Providence Eye & Laser Specialists is pleased to announce that, after an extensive national search, Dr. Mozayeni has selected a cataract surgeon to join our team. For the past 16 years, we have been committed to providing our community with the very best technologies and outstanding patient care for LASIK surgery. We felt patients with cataracts deserved this same level of patient care. When Dr. Mozayeni met Edwin “Trey” W. Nunnery, III, M.D. he knew Dr. Nunnery would be an invaluable member of our team and able to provide vision care to our past and future patients.

Dr. Nunnery was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. His academic credentials are impressive:

• Emory University School of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine
• Emory University School of Medicine, Internship, Internal Medicine
• Emory University School of Medicine, Residency, Ophthalmology
• Albany Medical Center, Fellowship, Cornea and external disease

As a fellowship-trained cornea specialist, Dr. Nunnery focuses on traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery with the option of advanced intraocular lens (IOL).

Like Dr. Mozayeni, Dr. Nunnery is committed to:

Cataracts are the most common vision problem - affecting people aged 40 and older, at a rate of about 1 in every 6 people in this age range. Cataract surgery was a treatment often requested at Providence Eye based on the outstanding patient experience we provide. With the addition of Dr. Nunnery, we are now able to help people clear up their cloudy, dull-colored, and yellowed vision to experience life with restored clarity. Additionally, most people may even be able to decrease or eliminate their need for glasses. Dr. Nunnery also offers Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL).

Our Cataract Surgery Philosophy

Here at Providence Eye, we feel just because a patient has cataracts, surgery is not always necessary right away. Not every vision center will admit that. Dr. Nunnery will take time to personally evaluate and educate every patient about their vision, answer questions, and explain all the available options. He is absolutely committed to guiding patients through the process and offering a personalized experience for every unique individual.
