Q: What is your name?
A:
My name is Megan Wheeler.

Q: Are you married? Do you have any children?
A:
I am not currently married nor do I have any children. When I do get married, I would like to eventually have 2 children. I grew up with a sister who was very close in age with me, so I would want my child to have a sibling. I could not imagine life without my wonderful sister.

Q: How long have you lived in Charlotte?
A:
I have lived in Charlotte for about 3 years. I moved to Charlotte after graduating from UNC- Greensboro.

Q: Where are you from originally?
A:
I was actually born in Roseburg, Oregon. My family moved around a lot (about every 3-4 years) but I spent my high school years in the small east coast town of Shallotte, NC.

Q: When did you join Providence Eye?
A:
I joined Providence Eye on October 7th, 2013.

Q: What is your role at Providence Eye?
A:
My role at Providence Eye is Front Operations Assistant.

Q: What do you like best about your position at Providence Eye?
A:
I love getting to meet all of our wonderful patients here at Providence Eye. We have so many interesting people that walk through our doors. I am a very talkative person, so I absolutely love talking to our patients and getting to know a little bit about their lives, their personalities and their LASIK needs.

Q: Why did you decide that Providence Eye was the right place for you?
A:
Ever since I was a child, I always wanted to work in an eye doctor’s office. When I would go to the eye care doctor for my annual eye exam, I was the child that asked thousands of questions about what the tech/ doctor was doing. What’s that test for? Why are you doing that? My mom thought it was so funny when she would take me to the eye doctor. When I left my interview at Providence Eye, I immediately called my mom and told her, “This is going to be the best job EVER!” I loved the enthusiasm of all of the staff members I got to meet. Everyone seemed so happy to be working here and I knew I would love it just as much. I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to work at such an amazing place.

Q: What do you like most about Charlotte?
A:
Growing up in a small town, I never had anything to go out and do (except go to the beach but you can’t really lay out in the winter time). I love that Charlotte has everything and anything you could think of to do. I also love all of the restaurants that Charlotte has to offer. I love to eat, especially good food, so I love the numerous choices in food.

Q: What do you like least about Charlotte?
A:
I do not like Charlotte traffic at all. That is about the only thing I do not like about Charlotte.
