Q: What is your name?
A:
My name is Shannon Beiter.

Q: Are you married? Do you have any children?
A:
I am married; I will be celebrating nine wonderful years with my husband Eric in August. We do not currently have any children, but hope to start a family someday. However, we do have two fur babies, one cat named Lola and a dog named Theo.

Q: How long have you lived in Charlotte?
A:
I moved to Charlotte in 2003 to attend UNC-Charlotte. I have moved a few times after graduating college in 2006 but have permanently been in Charlotte since July 2012.

Q: Where are you from originally?
A:
I’m originally from Rochester, NY. My parents and in-laws still reside there, so my husband and I travel back about twice a year to visit.

Q: When did you join Providence Eye & Laser Specialists?
A:
I first joined the Providence Eye team in April 2009. Eight months after starting, my husband and I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia for 4 years. When we moved back to Charlotte in the Summer of 2012, I was lucky enough to join the Providence Eye team again in February 2013.

Q: What is your role at Providence Eye?
A:
My role at Providence Eye is an Ophthalmic Technician, which means I perform tests on our patients, looking at their eyes, vision and the general health of their eyes. I also assist Dr. Mozayeni during LASIK procedures.

Q: What do you like best about your position at Providence Eye?
A:
I really enjoying meeting all of our patients and getting to know them. I enjoy being part of helping make our patients’ vision better. It really is a rewarding job, especially when Dr. Mozayeni’s patients are as happy as they are after having LASIK.

Q: Why did you decide that Providence Eye was the right place for you?
A:
I decided that Providence Eye was the right place for me after meeting the staff and knowing I had always wanted to work in LASIK industry. When coming back for the second time, I also knew it was the right place because even though it was four years later, the same staff was still there! It was almost as if I had never left…I still felt like a part of the Providence Eye family.

Q: What do you like most about Charlotte?
A:
Lots of things! I love the people, southern hospitality and having the mountains and beach just a few short hours away. Although the city is growing, I still feel like it has the “small town” feel in certain aspects.

Q: What do you like least about Charlotte?
A:
I dislike the traffic. I travel from Lake Norman every day, and while most days are okay, the traffic is never predictable.
