Whether you’re looking to catch a great view of our Charlotte skyline or step up your weekend activities, you’ll be able to enjoy it so much more after having LASIK at Providence Eye. We’ve rounded up a list of our favorite places to see and activities to do in Charlotte, NC.

Best skyline views

Nuvolé

Cocktails with the girls? Special date night? Whatever your occasion, Nuvolé has one of the best views of the Charlotte skyline. Just check out this pic of Dr. Mozayeni and his wife. Pro tip: while the weather is still nice, sit outside on the patio to have an unobstructed view of the city!

Little Sugar Creek Greenway

Did you know that the Little Sugar Creek Greenway features 19 miles of trails, leading from Cordelia Park in Villa Heights all the way to the North Carolina/South Carolina state line? The most popular spot on the Greenway might be in Midtown, starting at Target and leading to Freedom Park. Enjoy a 5-mile stroll around some of Charlotte’s most picturesque areas, and you can even catch a beautiful view of the Uptown skyline along the way!

Cordelia Park

Located just two miles northeast of Uptown and only a few light rail stops away, Cordelia Park is a hidden gem in the Villa Heights neighborhood. This 21-acre park features one of only two public parks in the county, as well as a splash pad, community garden, basketball court, and the beginning of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. The best part about this park is that it sits up on hill, with arguably one of the best views of the Charlotte skyline.

Be Active

Crowder's Mountain

Located just under an hour outside of the city, Crowder’s Mountain has become a local favorite for day trips and overnight camping trips, alike. This state park has over 20 miles of hiking trails, canoe rentals, as well as campsites, complete with a grill, picnic table, and tent pad. Whether you’re looking for a day-long getaway from the city, or a weekend camping trip, we have a feeling you’ll have so much more fun if you don’t have to worry about glasses or contacts!

Freedom Park

From jungle gyms to basketball courts, and just about everything in between, Freedom Park has something for everyone. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather while strolling around the lake and take in all the views without the need for contacts or glasses (although we do recommend you wear your sunglasses!)

Whitewater Center

Fall is the perfect time to enjoy the US National Whitewater Center. This outdoor playland features so many activities, from rock climbing to outdoor yoga to whitewater rafting, as well as so many races and festivals. You can enjoy the regular festivals or any one of the upcoming races (just to name a few!) - all activities you’ll want to be able to enjoy without the nuisance of glasses or contacts.

Enjoy Time with Friends

Olde Mecklenburg Brewery

One of the most popular breweries in Charlotte – and there are a lot of them! – is Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. With events like the LoSo Halloween Party, as well as the annual Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market, for those not fluent in German), you’ll love spending time here with your friends – and without your glasses!

Pro Sports Game

Panthers, Bobcats and Knights, oh my! Charlotte is chock-full of professional sports teams, so whether you’re going to watch football, basketball, hockey or baseball, with your new vision, you’ll be able to see every moment of action.

Get Cultured

Head Uptown for a Day of Museum-ing

What better way to celebrate your new, better vision than by experiencing some world-class museums right here in Charlotte? With so many options, you can make a full day out of it. Our favorites? We recommend the Mint Museum, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and the Levine Museum of the New South.

Catch a Play at the Blumenthal

Located in the heart of Uptown, the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center features a variety of plays, concerts and art exhibitions for you and your family to enjoy. Check out a Broadway musical tour like Wicked or our very own Charlotte Symphony – we know you’ll want to be able to see every detail clearly.
