Where is the EVO Implantable Collamer Lens placed in my eye?

When Dr. Nunnery performs your surgery, he will place the EVO ICL between the iris and the crystalline lens, making it undetectable to you or anyone looking at you.

What is the EVO ICL made of?

The EVO ICL is made of a material that is exclusive to STAAR Surgical and not found in other lenses. It's made of Collamer, a technologically advanced lens material that is biocompatible and provides UV protection.

Is the EVO ICL New?

No. There have been more than 2,000,000 ICL lenses have been implanted worldwide since its introduction.

Does the EVO Implantable contact lens dry out or get dirty?

Remember, this is an implanted collamer lens, not contact lens, so it is inside your eye, not in contact with the outside of your eye. Hence, it is not subject to dirt and dryness. However, we always recommend that our patients continue annual eye exams to ensure the lens is still safe and effective.

Is EVO Implantable Collamer Lens surgery covered by Insurance?

Like LASIK and PRK, the EVO ICL procedure is considered an elective procedure and it is not covered by insurance. Here at Providence Eye, we are proud to offer many options to make your EVO ICL surgery affordable.
