Dr. Raykovicz comes to Providence Eye & Laser Specialists with over 20 years of optometric experience having been in Charlotte since 2003. Dr. Raykovicz’s depth and breadth of experience in the area of dry eye, contact lenses, as well as LASIK and PRK post-operative care, enables him to provide the outstanding medical care that Providence Eye is known for.
Upon receiving his Doctorate of Optometry at The New England College of Optometry, Dr. Raykovicz completed his residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the State University of New York College of Optometry. This extra year of training provided the basis for expertise in specialty contact lenses for conditions such as Keratoconus, and other corneal diseases and conditions. He is one of the few optometrists in the region with this extra training and expertise.
In 1999 Dr. Raykovicz joined the faculty of the world-renowned Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was Director of Contact Lens Services within the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Department. He was on the medical school faculty at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he lectured extensively and taught medical school residents.
In 2003, Dr. Raykovicz moved to Charlotte and has worked at a large refractive surgery center and a general ophthalmology practice. Dr. Raykovicz was carefully selected not only for his impressive credentials but also for the quality patient relationships that he is known to establish.

Lee J. Raykovicz, O.D.
Dr. Raykovicz grew up in the Binghamton, NY area. After completing his undergraduate work in Oswego, NY, his postgraduate education and optometric training gradually took him East and South with stops in Boston, New York City and Maryland. In 2003, Dr. Raykovicz moved to Charlotte, NC with his wife and two children. Dr. Raykovicz enjoys all kinds of sports and still plays softball in a local league. He especially enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures and food with his wife and two kids.
