Founder, Medical Director, and LASIK surgeon at Providence Eye & Laser Specialists, Reza Michael Mozayeni, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea specialist.
Dr. Mozayeni is the most experienced LASIK surgeon in the Charlotte, NC region. Prior to establishing Providence Eye & Laser Specialists in 2003, Dr. Mozayeni spent three years as medical director of a national LASIK practice in Charlotte, and four years as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College. He has published multiple articles in the field of corneal diseases, spoken at national conferences, and is a contributing author to Cornea, a nationally recognized medical textbook that is referenced by specialists within his field.
Dr. Mozayeni began performing laser vision correction in 1996. He has personally performed more than 35,000 successful vision correction procedures making him the most experienced eye surgeons in the region and one of the few cornea specialists performing and specializing in laser vision correction in the United States.
In addition to his medical accomplishments, Dr. Mozayeni has proven himself to be an accomplished entrepreneur. Providence Eye is Dr. Mozayeni’s vision. He opened Providence Eye in 2003 because he knew he could provide a higher level of both medical and patient care. He carefully designed the entire office from top to bottom to reflect his philosophy and his desire for patients to feel comfortable in this environment.
As impressive as his credentials are, Dr. Mozayeni’s most defining quality is his attitude regarding patient care.
Dr. Mozayeni is a family man who loves living in Charlotte, NC. He and his wife Kristen were married in 1992 in Boston, MA. After completing his medical training and launching his career in Albany, NY, they moved to Charlotte in 2000. They have three children – boy/girl twins born in 2001 and their “baby” girl born in 2003. In the little spare time he has, Dr. Mozayeni enjoys being with his family and friends, spending time outside, traveling, exercising and keeping up on the latest technology, especially from Apple.
