EVO ICL Surgery: An Alternative to LASIK

Dr. Trey Nunnery, practice owner and surgeon here at Providence Eye & Laser Specialists, is pleased to offer EVO ICL procedure in Charlotte, NC to help more of our patients achieve the clear vision they desire. In fact, clinical trials have shown a 99% patient satisfaction rate with these lenses, providing sharp vision. There have been more than 2 million lenses implanted worldwide.

EVO ICL Surgery: How Does the Procedure Work?

During this procedure, Dr. Nunnery makes a microscopic incision in the cornea enabling him to meticulously implant the EVO Implantable Collamer Lens, a biocompatible lens, just below the surface of the eye between the iris and natural lens. Unlike LASIK, no lasers are used, and no corneal tissue is removed. Patients will be awake during the procedure, however, numbing drops are instilled in the eye to eliminate the sensation of pain and patients are provided a light anesthetic to keep them relaxed and comfortable throughout their procedure.

Like LASIK and PRK, EVO ICL surgery is an outpatient procedure and takes place at our office in the procedure suite. Both eyes are done at the same time and the entire procedure takes only about 40 minutes!

The EVO Implantable Collamer Lens is designed to remain in your eye indefinitely, however, it can be removed and/or replaced by Dr. Nunnery should the need arise.
